Mineral Description

healing crystals

Kidz Rocks has found a supplier that personally travels to the mines and hand selects his raw material. He then takes each piece and meticulously applies an acid wash which melts a layer of the calcite, making it smooth like a polished stone and revealing the rich color of this beautiful mineral. These are the highest quality calcite chucks you will find and not the run of the mill lower quality poorly processed stuff others sell. Only the best at Kidz Rocks!

You will receive one specimen measuring 2 1/2 inch to 3 inches and weighing between 4 and 7 ounces.

Bulk Purchase Specimen
You are buying one rock. You will receive a rock like the ones in the photographs, not the exact rock shown. The photograph with multiple rocks is so you can see the range of differences in this bulk purchase specimen listing. Photographing and listing every rock separately adds a lot in labor costs. We pass that savings on to you with lower prices and higher quality than the competition.

Calcite is a common part of sedimentary rocks, limestone in particular, much of which is formed from the shells of dead marine organisms. Calcite, like most carbonates, will dissolve with most forms of acid. Calcite exhibits an unusual characteristic called retrograde solubility in which it becomes less soluble in water as the temperature increases.

Calcite is fluorescent or will glow under a black light. Calcite is white or clear, though shades of gray, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, brown when the mineral contains impurities.

HEALING PROPERTIES

The soft and gentle color of blue calcite is so soothing to our nerves. This light blue beauty is good to have around when we need rest and relaxation. This stone is beneficial to those who are extremely sensitive to the thoughts and energies of others.

The energy of blue calcite surrounds us with an enveloping and protective blue spiritual light which allows us to gently drift out of our bodies. This applies particularly when we go astral journeying. During those out of body experiences, blue calcite prevents negative or unpleasant energies from entering in. Blue Calcite helps those with a ?defeatest? attitude.

Creative folks can benefit by having blue calcite around because it stimulates inspiration. Creative ideas, inspiration and ?aha? moments happen as a result of blue calcite opening us up the unconscious realms.

Being a stone associated with our throat chakra, it clears that chakra and enables us to express ourselves well through words, music and art. Place Blue Calcite on the throat chakra to discourage dissent and encourage clear communication. Blue calcite makes us aware of our thoughts and words (including unspoken ones) and how much they do impact our thinking and our life.

Also a stone for our third eye, blue calcite removes blockages in our 6th chakra and stimulates our intuitive and psychic abilities. It enhances inner vision, clairvoyance, telepathy and long distance communication.

My piece of calcite is exactly what I hoped for: beautiful, smokey blue and smooth, but not polished.
