This high quality lemon quartz is mined from the Minas Gerais region of Brazil which is world-famous for the quality of its quartz. This is NOT the facet gem quality quartz used to make lemon quartz gemstones for jewelry which is a form of heat treated quartz. This lemon quartz is natural just as it came out of the ground.

You will receive one lemon quartz crystal from the lot shown in the photos that 3 to 4 inch and weighs 8 to 12 ounces.

Mineral Description
Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in the Earth’s continental crust, after feldspar. It is made up of a continuous framework of SiO4 silicon oxygen tetrahedra, with each oxygen being shared between two tetrahedra, giving an overall formula SiO2.

There are many different varieties of quartz, several of which are semi-precious gemstones. Especially in Europe and the Middle East, varieties of quartz have been since antiquity the most commonly used minerals in the making of jewelry and hard stone carvings. Quartz is the hardest of common minerals. Only rare minerals, such as diamonds, are harder than quartz.

    I am giving this 5 stars because it is a lovely specimen, and the overall size and shape are spot-on accurate. They shipped the same day, and my order was well packed. However, in person to me it is more of a lime color rather than yellow (what I wanted). I went back to order a true yellow stone (I chose neon muscovite), and the shop gave that to me for free (just pay shipping)! I was blown away by their generosity and commitment to customer service.
