These hard to find bicolor muscovite book mica and lepidolite book mica specimens were imported by Kidz Rocks from Barra Do Salinas Mine, Coronel Murta, Minas Gerais, Brazil. These are also known as window mica or diamond mica. They are unique with the purple lepidolite and muscovite mica on the same specimen.

You will receive one specimen from the lot shown in the photos that is 1 1/2 inch to 2 inch and weighs 1 to 2 ounces.

Mineral Description
Lepidolite is an uncommon mica and is an ore of lithium and forms in granitic masses that contain a substantial amount of lithium. The typical violet color of lepidolite is characteristic and like other micas, has a layered structure of lithium aluminum silicate sheets weakly bonded together by layers of potassium ions.

Muscovite is a common rock forming mineral and is found in igneous, metamorphic and detrital sedimentary rocks. Muscovite has a layered structure of aluminum silicate sheets weakly bonded together by layers of potassium ions. These potassium ion layers produce the perfect cleavage of muscovite.
