Cats Eye Agate that has been tumbled and polished is imported by Kidz Rocks from Brazil. These are not the small 1/2 inch to 1 inch tumbled stones everyone else sells. These are very large tumbled stones that we have custom made for us by our Brazilian supplier.

These are also properly tumbled stones. They are tumbled just enough to create a polish but while still retaining the original unique shape and character of each stone. Only the best at Kidz Rocks!

The stone was given its name by Theophrastus, a Greek philosopher and naturalist, who discovered the stone along the shoreline of the river Achates sometime between the 4th and 3rd centuries BC.

Agate is one of the most common materials used in the art of hardstone carving, and has been recovered at a number of ancient sites, indicating its widespread use in the ancient world.
