Description

I have sourced these clear selenite slabs from a private mine in Utah that is one of the largest suppliers in the USA of selenite slabs for designer home construction industry. Huge pieces are used for room dividers, doors and other unique custom home treatments.

Most of my current stock are “water clear” but some are a mix of semi clear and water clear. Please see the group photo before purchasing. These are very different shapes from one piece to another. Some are 5 x 6 inches, some are 3 x 6 inches while another is 4 x 4 inches.

You will receive one specimen that is between 8 and 12 ounces.

These are perfect to use for cleaning your healing crystal being a large flat surface of ultra pure selenite.

Mineral Description
Selenite is one of the four varieties of the mineral gypsum and is a common, rock-forming mineral, with thick, extensive beds formed by the evaporation of extremely saline waters. Non-toxic to animals as well as people, gypsum is safe to use in housing. It is used in drywall and the yard and garden, where it may be used to condition soil. It is White, colorless or gray, but can also be shades of red, brown and yellow.

The crystals can also be quite large. Selenite is a natural insulator, feeling warm to the touch when compared to a more ordinary rock or quartz crystal. Sheets of clear crystals can be easily peeled from a larger specimen.

The largest deposit of selenite in the world is White Sands National Monument in New Mexico. There over 275 square miles of shifting selenite sand dunes cover the area. Selenite was used by Native Americans as long ago as 3000 years for the white pigments, which they used for decorating pottery, teepees, body paint, and shields. Egyptians used selenite as jointing material in the monuments they built over 5000 years ago.
