Tumbled and polished red dolomite imported by Kidz Rocks from Brazil. These are not the small 3/4 inch tumbled stones everyone else sells. These are large tumbled stones that we have custom made for us by our Brazilian supplier.

These are also properly tumbled stones. They are tumbled just enough to create a polish but while still retaining the original unique shape and character of each stone.

You will receive one polished red dolomite crystal from the lot shown in the photos that is 1 3/4 inch to 2 1/4 inch and weighing 2 to 3 ounces.

Mineral Description
Dolomite is a common sedimentary rock-forming mineral that can be found in massive beds several hundred feet thick. They are found all over the world and are quite common in sedimentary rock sequences. Except in its pink, curved crystal habit dolomite is hard to distinguish from its second cousin, calcite.

Disputes have arisen as to how these dolomite beds formed and the debate has been called the “Dolomite Problem”. Dolomite forms rhombohedrons as its typical crystal habit. But for some reason, possibly twinning, some crystals curve into saddle-shaped crystals. Dolomite is used for manufacturing certain types of refractory bricks used in steel making. Dolomite is named for the French mineralogist Deodat de Dolomieu.
