This beautiful red and white calcite is mined in Mexico. Kidz Rocks has found a supplier that personally travels to the mines and hand selects his raw material. These are the highest quality calcite chucks you will find and not the run of the mill lower quality poorly processed stuff others sell. Only the best at Kidz Rocks!

You will receive one specimen from the lot shown in the photos that is 1 1/2 inch to 2 inch and 2 to 4 ounces.

Calcite is a common part of sedimentary rocks, limestone in particular, much of which is formed from the shells of dead marine organisms. Calcite, like most carbonates, will dissolve with most forms of acid. Calcite exhibits an unusual characteristic called retrograde solubility in which it becomes less soluble in water as the temperature increases.

Calcite is fluorescent or will glow under a black light. Calcite is white or clear, though shades of gray, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, brown when the mineral contains impurities.

HEALING PROPERTIES

Calcite increases and amplifies energy. This makes it an excellent stone for distance healing, as well as other types of healing. Red Calcite is an energizing and detoxifying stone. It also has the ability to bring stability to one's will, and increases inner strength.

It assists with problem solving. It can also attract love. With it's ability to ease and release fears, it calms the rushes of adrenaline caused by fear, which is particularly helpful to those who "do battle" in their every day lives.

Physically red calcite is used in crystal healing for genitals, reproductive organs, gonads, ovaries, hips, lets, feet, stiff muscles and joints. Red calcite is also used for healthy sexuality and sensuality. It is preferred calcite for conditions where detoxification is necessary, such as food poisoning or alcoholism recovery.

Red calcite is associated with the root or base chakra.
