Mineral Description

healing crystals

Kidz Rocks sources these pure copper nuggets from a supplier that mines them from the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan. Our supplier custom makes these for us without the clear coating. Virtually all other copper nuggets sold by other sellers are coated with a clear coating to prevent them from tarnishing green over time as natural copper does. Who wants clear plastic coating on their prized mineral specimens? Not me! Only the best products for our customers!

A few times a year just use a little copper cleaner to remove the green oxidation or apply your own clear spray coating if desired.

You will receive one Copper Nugget from the lot shown in the photos that is 2 1/2 inch to 3 inch and weighs between 4 and 6 ounces.

Bulk Purchase Crystal

You are buying one crystal from the lot shown in the photographs. Listing every crystal separately adds a lot in labor costs. We pass that savings on to you with lower prices and higher quality than the competition.

HEALING PROPERTIES

Due to the fact that copper is such a wonderful physical conductor of electricity and heat, it is also considered the conductor of the spiritualist's belief system. According to myths, copper has the ability to conduct spiritual energy back and forth between individuals, crystals, auras, the mind and the spirit world.

It is also believed that copper has the power to amplify thoughts when sending and receiving psychic communications. New Age followers carry copper with their stones and crystals to 'straighten' the properties of them, as well they are used when crating crystal wands to be certain of their clear and straight powers. Copper is also quite instrumental in the physical and mental healing rites of many peoples of this world.

Medicinally copper has been used for thousands of years. Ancient cultures recognized copper as a healing mineral. Copper was found useful for its healing powers both internally and externally. It is still used in the treatment of wounds and skin diseases, as well as internal diseases, anemia, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, and heart disease. It is also used for its healing properties in improving circulation of blood, increasing energy and detoxification of the body. Copper is considered a mineral to increase energy and mental agility.

MINERAL DESCRIPTION

Native copper is a form of copper that occurs as a natural mineral. Copper is one of the few metallic elements to occur in native form. Copper is a chemical element with symbol Cu (from Latin: cuprum). It is a soft, malleable, and ductile metal with very high thermal and electrical conductivity. A freshly exposed surface of pure copper has a reddish-orange color.

History, Legend and Lore of Copper use by humans is a long and varied, dating back nearly 10,000 years with multiple applications. Copper is, in fact, humanity's first metal and shows up in Sumerian and Egyptian metallurgy circa 3900 BC.

Copper has many properties which make it nearly indispensable to modern civilizations. Copper is an essential nutrient to all high plants and animals. In animals, including humans, it is found primarily in the bloodstream, as a co-factor in various enzymes, and in copper-based pigments. In sufficient amounts, copper can be poisonous and even fatal to organisms.

The mines of the Keweenaw native copper deposits of Upper Michigan were major copper producers in the 19th and early 20th centuries, and are the largest deposits of native copper in the world. Native Americans mined copper on a small scale at this and many other locations, and evidence exists of copper trading routes throughout North America among native peoples. The first commercial mines in the Keweenaw Peninsula (which is nicknamed the "Copper Country" and "Copper Island") opened in the 1840s.
