THE FOSSIL PETRIFIED WOOD
Petrified wood is a fossil. It forms when plant material is buried by sediment and protected from decay by oxygen and organisms. Then, groundwater rich in dissolved solids flows through the sediment replacing the original plant material with silica, calcite, pyrite or another inorganic material such as opal. Petrified Wood is an extremely grounding and protecting stone. It is said to calm the nerves and fears and to encourage feelings of well-being, safety and security. It is a good stone for meditation and for helping you to distinguish between what is important and what is not, enabling you to stop worrying about the small stuff.
